Area Information - Orange, CT The town of Orange in south central Connecticut near the Long Island Sound covers 17.6 square miles and is home to approximately 13,540 residents. Orange was first settled in 1727. In 1822 the town was incorporated from Milford; a residential section, now the town of West Haven, was set off in 1921.
